Privacy Policy — Iqra

Iqra ("the app") is developed and operated by MSNet. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and how you can request that it be deleted.

Information we collect

When you register for an account, we collect:

Full name, email address, and mobile number
Age (used only to understand the app's audience by age group — never shown to other users or shared externally)
Address (city/area, used to personalise your experience)
A profile photo, if you choose to upload one

With your permission, the app also uses:

Location (GPS) — to detect your nearest JAKIM prayer zone and to find nearby mosques/surau. Your precise location is not stored long-term; only the resulting zone code or search results are cached.
Notifications — to deliver azan (prayer time) alerts you enable in Settings.

How we use your information

To create and secure your account (sign in, password reset)
To show prayer times for your zone and nearby mosques
To send prayer-time notifications you have turned on
To understand our users in aggregate (e.g. age-group breakdowns) so we can improve the app

What we don't do

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. The external services the app talks to (JAKIM's e-Solat API for prayer times, OpenStreetMap for mosque locations, a public gold-price feed for the Zakat calculator, and the islamic.network CDN for Quran recitation audio in the Short Surahs feature) only ever receive the minimum needed for that one request — a zone code, a rough coordinate, or which surah's audio file to stream — never your name, email, or account details.

Data storage & retention

Your data is stored on MSNet's servers, hosted in a secured environment. We keep it for as long as your account exists.

Deleting your account and data

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time:

In the app: go to Settings → Danger Zone → Delete my account, confirm with your password. This immediately and permanently removes your profile, saved preferences, and uploaded photo from our servers.
By email: contact us at sharifudin.h@gmail.com and we will delete your account within a reasonable time.

Children's privacy

Iqra is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
